Stalin is back! More specifically, Stalin has been returned to the Moscow Metro. To commemorate the 90th anniversary of the Moscow Metro, a monument to Joseph Stalin was erected at Taganskaya Station. A truly significant marking of the anniversary of Metro named after V.I Lenin. This monument also coincides with the official renaming of Volgograd International Airport to Stalingrad International Airport. Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the request of the region’s residents, veterans and participants in the “military special operation”. The airport had been called Volgograd since 1961, during the De-Stalinization period.
